Greek Trapezi–Original Oil Paintings of Food, Faith, and Heritage

Tomorrow, September 26, my original oil painting collection, Greek Trapezi, makes its debut. I’m honored to be the featured artist at a tea party hosted by our local Philoptochos and Daughters of Penelope chapters.

Many people know me primarily as the photographer behind Persephone Studios, but painting actually came first. I spent ten years working in oils before stepping away from the canvas six years ago. During that time, photography became another way of studying the things I love most–light, color, composition, and atmosphere–all of which have always found their way back into my painting. Now, after six years away, I’m finally back at the easel.

I’ve spent these past five months building Greek Trapezi from the first brushstroke to the collection you’ll see tomorrow. Alongside the paintings, I’ve also poured countless hours into creating for the event itself: designing and hand-painting the invitations, custom QR codes, menus, welcome signs, and guest favors, as well as having my original cornucopia watercolor custom framed to be raffled with the proceeds going directly to Philoptochos.

Philoptochos supports those in need and Daughters of Penelope is an organization dedicated to supporting women and their communities. Being able to donate my creative work to an event centered around that kind of service makes this debut feel even more meaningful.

After six years, it feels wonderful to finally be in front of my easel again. And tomorrow, I get to share what I’ve been working on.
