The Uffizi Gallery Vlog & Photos

The video below premiers tomorrow, April 7th at noon PST. Click below to watch it live when it airs, or anytime after.

Today's a short vlog featuring the Uffizi Gallery and Caffe Rivoire. Just another little slice of life edit. I'm hoping to get these out every day this week live at noon PST.

I take so much inspiration and joy from Italian history and culture. My degree is in art history with an emphasis on the Italian Renaissance, and my mom's family is Italian (her grandparents were born in Italy), so this trip was literally a dream come true. So many paintings we stopped by I would point at and talk about a paper I wrote on it. But I honestly never imagined these pieces were as large as they are, or even that they are completely crammed into a space where every square inch is a work of art (statues, gold leaf, relief sculpture, embellished frames, etc.). I didn't film as much as I wish I had because literally carrying all my equipment while looking up for 6 hours was an exhausting feat, albeit an incredibly inspiring one.

I wish I could bottle Italy up and carry it with me when I'm feeling uninspired with my own paintings, but I guess these videos are as close to that as I can get.

I hope you enjoy!
