London

I have never before been in such an international city. It felt as though the chemistry and atmosphere of the city had a life of its own, and it responded and changed according to who graced its streets at any given moment.

When we were there, it felt fast, loud, and crowded. The energy was electric.

My favorite part of London was exploring the streets on a midnight stroll with my husband. Despite the late hour, hundreds of people were out enjoying the River Thames. The ferris wheel was lit up in bright red lights. The reflection of the city shimmered on the river below us as we strolled across the bridge. I could feel as though everyone surrounding us were here for just one night. It felt elusive and magical.

Overall, London felt crowded during the day. Though we were glad for the many parks that broke up the expanse of concrete and brick. For an American girl, these parks were dreams from fairytales. How strange it was for me, yet how normal it must be for locals to sit and eat your lunch in the park in London just outside the Royal Palace.

Despite the crowds, London was gorgeous. It was filled with tall buildings eclipsed by even taller, lush trees that formed a beautiful canopy of green to cover us during all the surprise rain showers.

London is another world all on its own.
